The Driver Training & Education
Centre (DTEC) is the preferred provider for all vehicle
training conducted at the RAC Driving Centre.
Road safety is about driver behaviour
as well as driving skills. Driving a motor vehicle is
usually by far the highest risk activity that each of
us undertakes and is usually done on a daily basis.
However, if we were to ask the question “Are you
a safe driver?” most of us would optimistically
answer “yes”.
Over 96% of road crashes are a result
of human error, with a a percentage of these crashes
involving new or young drivers.
Many of these crashes could be prevented by simple behavioural
changes through understanding risks, driving to suit
the conditions and appropriate skills level of the driver.
